Medicetics Hydrafacial

A few days ago I was lucky enough to experience the ever-trendy HydraFacial treatment thanks to The Medicetics Clinic in Connaught Village.

With several accessible London locations close to Oxford Circus and Marble Arch, as well as a spot in Cirencester, Medicetics is one of the most acclaimed locations for the treatment, which originated in Los Angeles.

What is a HydraFacial?

The HydraFacial (or red carpet facial) gives an immediate brightening of the skin and lasting improvement in elasticity and texture. An innovative procedure that combines cleansing, exfoliation, extraction, hydration, and antioxidant application to help produce gleaming, glowing skin. By combining these actions, the HydraFacial MD removes dead skin cells, extracts dirt and impurities, and hydrates ageing, dull skin. The end result is skin that looks fresh, renewed, and years younger.

The HydraFacial MD uses the Vortex-Fusion serum delivery system, which simultaneously removes impurities while replenishing the skin with critical nutrients and antioxidants. The 5-step procedure can take only 30 minutes to perform, while results can be seen immediately. There’s no downtime associated with this treatment. It’s recommended that clients schedule one HydraFacial treatment each month to maintain results.

The HydraFacial Skin Health for Life treatment uses super-serums filled with antioxidants, peptides and hyaluronic acid to boost hydration and protect skin from environmental damage, leaving it recharged, renewed, and invigorated.

The 6 HydraFacial steps

1. Detox.

Lymph massage stimulate the lymph system to help shift toxins. Most people’s lymphatic systems are sluggish because we don’t exercise enough. The massage increases blood flow, providing extra oxygen to invigorate the skin. The skin draws up water to hydrate it and is supported by the fresh lymph, restoring tone and firmness.

2. Cleansing and Exfoliation.

A vacuum-based abrasion tip smooths away dead skin cells while delivering serum directly to the fresh new skin beneath. This serum is brimming with ingredients to revitalise and support your skin, such as botanical extracts and glucosamine.

3. Brightening Agent.

Now that pore-blocking old skin cells have been swept away, a glycolic and salicylic solution is applied to gently break up congestion in the pores. This will brighten your skin and at the same time prep the pores for the next step.

4. Extraction.

Using salicylic acid and honey to gently draw out blackheads and other impurities.

5. Hydration.

Now that your pores are clear and dead skin cells have been removed, your fresh new skin is ready to be treated. This step nourishes your skin and drenches it in moisture, with a mix of vitamins. potent antioxidants, peptides and hyaluronic acid, to support collagen. This step will leave your skin soft and plumped with moisture, reducing the appearance of wrinkles.

6. Rejuvenation.

Finally, red and infrared LED light is applied. This will soothe your skin, reducing redness, and stimulating the production of collagen so that the skin grows thicker. It even helps your skin naturally produce vitamin D. You will be left with skin that feels recharged, renewed and invigorated.

I absolutely loved my HydraFacial treatment at Medicetics and left with skin feeling brand new – quite literally. My aesthetician, Beata was welcoming, kind and wonderful! I would thoroughly recommend the experience to anyone wanting to try a very effective facial.
